Hark! the Herald Angles Sing

(Song 2....All three verses rock.)

Hark! the herald angles sing,
"Glory to the newborn king;
Peace on earth, and mercy mild;
God and sinners reconciled!"
Joyful, all ya nations rise!
Join the triumph of the skies!
With the angelic host proclaim,
"Christ is born in Bethlehem!"
Hark! the herald angles sing, "Glory to the newborn king!"

Christ, by highest heaven adored,
Christ, the everlasting lord;
Late in time, behold him come,
Offspring of the virgin's womb.
Velied in flesh, the Godhead see.
Hail the incarnate deity,
Pleased with us in flesh to dwell, Jesus our Emmanuel.
Hark! the herald angels sing, "Glory to the newborn king!"

Hail, the heaven-born Princ eof Peace!
Hail the son of righteousness!
Light and life to all he brings,
Risen with healing in his wings.
Mild he lays his glory by,
Born that man no more may die,
Born to raise the sons of earth,
Born to give us second birth.
Hark! the herald angles sing, "Glory to the newborn king!"

Now, do we know what famous tune Charles Wesley INTENDED the song to be sung to?

Hint: Felix Mendelssohn's music was written 100 years later.

Hint Two: Wikipedia has it wrong.

P.S.

I fixed Wikipedia.

Ok dad. I looked it up. He wanted it to be sung to Christ the Lord Is Risen Today. Thanks.
